The Things Guests Notice That We Sometimes Miss

Before an event starts, there is always a lot going onThe stage has to be checked. The lights have to be checked. Someone is still fixing the decoration. The food team is asking about timings. Guests are about to arrive.
There is always something.
And when you are working on an event, you naturally keep looking at these things.
But after spending time at different events, I have noticed something.
Guests don't always care about the things we are busy checking.
They notice other things.
Like whether someone is there to help them when they walk in.
Whether they can find their seat easily.
Whether their grandparents have somewhere comfortable to sit.
Whether they have to stand around waiting for food.
Small things like these.
Something I Remember From an Event
I remember one event where I saw an elderly guest standing near the entrance.
He was looking around but wasn't really going anywhere.
People were walking past him. Everyone was busy.
I went over and asked him if he was looking for someone.
He was trying to find his family and didn't know where they were sitting.
So I helped him get there.
That's it.
It took maybe a minute.
But I kept thinking about it later.
We had spent so much time getting the venue ready, checking the setup and making sure everything looked good.
And in that moment, none of that mattered to him.
He just needed someone to help him find his family.
That's when I realised again that an event is not only about what we set up.
It's also about what is happening around the guests.
Things Can Change Very Quickly
You can plan everything beforehand and still have things go differently on the actual day.
More people might show up.
Someone may need another seat.
A guest may ask for something that wasn't planned.
The food counter may suddenly get crowded.
The schedule might run a little late.
It happens.
You can't stop every little problem.
You just have to notice it and deal with it.
That's why I don't like staying in one place during an event.
I like walking around and seeing what is happening.
Sometimes you find a problem before anyone even comes to tell you about it.
Most of the Work Isn't Seen
When people look at an event, they see the stage, the lights, the decoration and the people enjoying themselves.
They don't see everything happening in the background.
They don't see the phone calls.
They don't see someone running to get something that is missing.
They don't see the team checking the next part of the event.
They don't see the small problems being sorted out.
And honestly, that's fine.
If the guests are enjoying themselves, that's what matters.
At Baba Saab Events, we try to keep things that way.
If something can be handled quietly, we handle it quietly.
There is no reason for a small backstage problem to become a guest's problem.
What I Have Learned
For me, a good event isn't just one that looks good in pictures.
Of course, everyone wants a nice setup.
But I feel happier when I see guests sitting comfortably, enjoying their food, talking to each other and having a good time.
Sometimes it's the smallest things that tell you whether an event is actually going well.
A guest finding their seat without any trouble.
Someone getting help when they need it.
An elderly person being comfortable.
A family enjoying the evening without having to worry about anything.
These things may never show up in the event photos.
But they matter.
At the end of the day, the stage comes down, the lights go off and everything gets packed.
The guests leave.
What stays with them is how the day felt.
And that's something I don't want to overlook.
